Liverpool superstar rejects multiple offers to accept contract extension with ‘significant wage cut’
Liverpool Ace midfielder has agreed to a new one-year contract, according to The Athletic. The 36-year-old has taken a’significant wage drop’ to stay with the Reds after rejecting a couple other offers.
Two Premier League clubs and one Major League Soccer club had made proposals to the Englishman. Milner’s new deal is expected to be announced later this week.
Milner joined the Reds from Manchester City in 2015, and in 289 games in all competitions, he has 26 goals and 44 assists.

Last season, the veteran continued to put in strong work, making 39 appearances. He’s also incredibly adaptable, having previously played in central and defensive midfield, as well as right back
With the Merseysiders, Milner has won six trophies, including the Premier League title and the Champions League trophy. Last season, he won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, but he was beaten in the UEFA Champions League final by Real Madrid.
With Milner’s previous contract expiring this summer, manager Jurgen Klopp was set about keeping him at Anfield.
The Liverpool vice-captain has been recognized for his nearly two-decade career in the professional game.
Milner has a great Premier League record, having appeared in the competition the fourth most times (588) of any player. He began his career at Leeds United in 2002 and has since gone on to play for Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Manchester City.
