Jude Bellingham’s father wants his superstar son to sign for Liverpool next year,  according to Football Insider.

However, the player himself has had his head turned following strong interest from Premier League Champions Man City and La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The latest news on the battle to sign one of the most sought-after youngsters comes as the January transfer opens.

Liverpool are in the market for a top-class midfielder in January and Jurgen Klopp made publicly sure of how highly he rates Bellingham with a resounding endorsement of his abilities recently.

Even though Dortmund are willing to sell their prized asset in the summer for a price of at least £120 million, a deal during the next month is thought to be highly unlikely.

Liverpool, Man City, and Real are the three teams vying for Bellingham, and they are all working tirelessly behind the scenes to persuade him to sign with them.

In the summer, the Merseysiders came very close to agreeing to terms with the England international, and a reliable source had revealed that the “deal was virtually done” at one point.

Bellingham and his father Mark had been convinced at the time that moving to Merseyside was the best next step in his career, but a complete agreement could not be reached at the time.

In the end, the midfielder decided to stay at Borussia Dortmund and he has taken his performances to a new level this season for club and country.

Due to the rise in demand and price for him as a result, Liverpool will have an even harder time signing him the next season.

The player’s mind is thought to have changed as a result of the intense competition between Man City and Real Madrid.

However, Bellingham’s father, a former non-league goalscoring wonder who serves as his closest advisor and has a much greater impact on his son’s career than an agent or middleman, continues to believe that Liverpool are the ideal fit for his son.

Bellingham is the solution to the midfield issues that have troubled Klopp’s ageing team this season, the manager had made this clear in private.

This was visible once more in Friday’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Leicester City when a sloppy midfield performance once more exposed the deficiencies there.

Due to personal reasons, Fabinho was unable to play, and a midfield that included Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott, and Jordan Henderson—who particularly had a bad game and struggled to assert control.

Bellingham’s current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and Dortmund has made little effort toward extending it.
