Liverpool’s interest in Sofyan Amrabat grows as deal enters the next Phase
Liverpool fans may not have thought that they will be watching out for Morocco in the semi-final of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, and to be excited about the prospect of Sofyan Amrabat’s possible move to Anfield.
It seems that interest has grown this winter and, as reported by Matteo Moretto for Revelo, we are ready to make a move: ’40 million for Amrabat, the sensation of the World Cup. Liverpool are also interested in Amrabat. It’s true. The detail that we can reveal is that the English club fell in love with him during this World Cup in Qatar’.
Before the tournament began, there were no credible reports around the 26-year-old, but these have increased with each outstanding performance he has shown thus far.
The Fiorentina midfielder’s current contract expires in 18 months, so his parent club would be eager to cash in on him at the end of the World Cup while his stock is still high, considering that €40 million would be a respectable sum for them.
Due to the potential exits of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner this summer, if the Reds were to try and acquire a marquee player like Jude Bellingham, it might also imply that the still require another player.
Liverpool chiefs will have to see if this price rises any further but the former Hellas Verona man could be a real option for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds if they want to bolster in January or the summer.
