According to reports, Liverpool has made a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

Thus far in the summer transfer window, Jurgen Klopp has added up to three players to his first-team roster at Anfield.

Along with the potential £86 million deal for Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsey and Fabio Carvalho have both joined from Fulham and Aberdeen, respectively.

There have been rumors that Klopp won’t make any additional adjustments to a team that competed on four fronts last season, winning two awards and placing second in the Premier League and Champions League.

Melchor Ruiz of Deportes COPE reports that the Merseyside giants intend to finalize a deal for Asensio during the next several weeks.

For Marco Asensio, Liverpool has made an offer.

The 26-year-old has spent the majority of his senior years at the Santiago Bernabeu, recording 49 goals from 235 appearances across all competitions.

However, Asensio has slipped down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti, appearing as a substitute in 12 of his last 31 La Liga appearances.

There appears to be a reluctance in both sides to negotiate additional terms at Los Blancos given that the playmaker’s deal just has one year left.

While Asensio is open to joining a new squad, it is widely believed that he only wants to do so if he will be the first choice.

According to the same report, Asensio has also received a proposal from AC Milan, who were the first to link him to the club before the January transfer season.

This week, rumors surfaced that Manchester United and Chelsea were vying for the player’s services in an effort to bolster their respective rosters.

Asensio is claimed to want to make around €7 million (£6 million) a year at his future club, while Real Madrid is reportedly seeking a cost in the neighborhood of £35 million.

To accomplish a transfer by the end of August, all parties might need to be amenable to a compromise.
