Watch; Liverpool have fresh Mohamed Salah contract update after Jürgen Klopp makes a transfer decision
Liverpool began their transfer business in April, agreeing to a deal for Fulham teenager Fábio Carvalho after nearly missing out in the January window.
The Reds then revealed the arrival of Darwin Nunez, a Benfica striker who will replace Sadio Mané, on Tuesday.
They’re now putting the finishing touches on a contract for Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay, who is 18 years old. He’ll be their third and last summer signing, according to numerous reports.

Liverpool, on the other hand, appears to be in need of a new midfielder before the end of August. They may have seven choices, but all of them are older, inexperienced, or prone to injury, with the exception of Fabinho. Some people fall under multiple categories.
The Reds did the same thing last summer, withdrawing from the market early. At the end of May, they completed the signing of Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig, and he proved to be the lone newcomer.
The success of the window, though, should not be evaluated solely on incomings, according to important figures at Anfield. After all, they also signed four world-class players to long-term contracts: Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Fabinho.
“If you are a real Liverpool fan,” Klopp said in his press conference on the eve of the season opener against Norwich City, “then you have to be happy with the news the club has delivered in the past few weeks with the new contracts.”
However, one signature eluded them last summer and remains unaccounted for: Mohamed Salah’s. With no further additions expected, it’s even more vital for Liverpool to secure his services.
As things stand, the Reds will have a difficult challenge ahead of them next summer. Not only will they have to beat off fierce competition to sign Bellingham, who would almost certainly cost at least £80 million, but they may also have to find a successor for Salah. If Mané’s successor, Nunez, is any indication, Liverpool could be looking at a £60 million investment.
Even if a £140 million with investment is financially feasible, there is another issue to consider. Many of Liverpool’s Champions League and Premier League-winning stars are nearing the end of their careers, and the club has recognized the need for a rebuild.
Until now, this has been done at a slow and steady pace, with younger players such as Diogo Jota, Konaté, Luis Daz, and Nez joining in different transfer windows.
This has proven to be a successful strategy, allowing Liverpool to stay competitive while putting together their next generation and avoiding major changes.
In fact, in the last seven transfer windows, Liverpool has only made one signing worth more than £30 million. It doesn’t appear that this is how the club prefers to function.
With the departures of Mané, Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino, and others, it’s fair to wonder whether Liverpool will be a stronger squad next season.
Salah’s contract renewal, on the other hand, might make this summer window a triumph. At Liverpool, he has scored more than 31 goals per season and, more importantly, there is reason to believe he can continue to produce elite figures for a number more years.
