“I’d love to join Liverpool or Barcelona” – Watch raphinha give two conditions to join both European giants as Leeds united set asking price
As Leeds United learn of the players’ ultimatum, a new Raphinha asking price emerges.
Raphinha is still expected to leave Leeds United this transfer window, and the club may be willing to lower their asking price.
Leeds were in a strong position entering into this summer when it came to negotiating deals both in and out of the club, thanks to their survival.
They didn’t appear to be in a position where they needed to cash in on their best talent and could instead wait for the proper offers.
Raphinha’s likely departure from Leeds seems to be the most foregone conclusion of the club’s outgoing business this season, with Liverpool and Barcelona connected with him throughout 2022.
Their crippling financial issues, though, have halted any speculation of a move to the Nou Camp, allowing Arsenal and Tottenham to show interest in him.
According to Sport in Spain, Leeds are willing to decrease their asking price to roughly €50 million (£42.7 million) in order to clinch a deal.
They claim that this valuation is able to be ‘revised downwards’ from this sum even further and that Raphinha is eager to leave:
“The Brazilian winger has made it clear to his club that he wants to leave this summer and is willing to make a public request if that favors the operation.”
I don’t understand why we’d be willing to drop our asking price to let a team that doesn’t have any money sign our player on the cheap.
We have no business allowing Raphinha to depart for anything less than our asking amount.
Barcelona’s spending spree in previous years is not our fault, and believing they are entitled to Raphinha is crazy.
We’re not going to bend over backwards to accommodate the major clubs on this one, and we’re not to fault for the lengthy transfer issue.
