Jude Bellingham sends transfer message to Liverpool but jurgen klopp might have to wait
Liverpool are likely to complete their incoming transfer business soon with the acquisition of Aberdeen prodigy Calvin Ramsay, leaving Jürgen Klopp without a midfield reinforcement for the new season.
Of course, things might still change – if a long-term objective became available at a reasonable price, Liverpool would make a move. However, it appears that Darwin Nez will be the sole high-profile signing for the summer.
Liverpool have stated that their transfer business is over for the season (or will be once Calvin Ramsay is confirmed), which has not been well received by some.
But if the past few transfer windows have taught us anything, it’s that the Reds know exactly what they’re doing – and they don’t make mistakes.
Jude Bellingham is the obvious argument for deferring till next summer. That is a compelling justification in and of itself, but you must also examine Liverpool’s current options for this season.
James Milner has been extended for another season and is expected to play a key role, but Alex Oxlade-future Chamberlain’s is uncertain.
Harvey Elliott’s progress will be hampered if he sustains another injury, while Curtis Jones will be expected to step up and play a bigger role this season than he did last. Waiting for Bellingham makes sense because the choice to take on Naby Keta is still up in the air.
