Following the conclusion of his summer move to Bayern Munich, Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane has written an emotional letter to Liverpool fans as well as waving farewell to the club.

Bayern Munich will pay about £35 million for the Senegalese forward, who had one year left on his current Liverpool contract.

Mane’s future was in doubt before the game since Bayern Munich had expressed interest in him, and his contract at Anfield was set to expire in 2023. Following the match, the forward hinted that he would reveal his future move, first implying that he might quit Liverpool and then implying that he would stay.

After the agonizing Champions League final defeat, the attacker kept his word and delivered a more definitive look into his future as Bayern Munich are set to sign the superstar.

In an interview with AS, the Senegalese international said:

“I want to thank the [Liverpool] fans for everything and the coach too. I wish this team all the best in the world.”

However, despite the player’s now public stance, it is understood that the Reds will only sanction Mane’s departure should a suitable offer arrive.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also among the clubs to have been informed of the stand-off.

With some smart business in the transfer window, Liverpool have future-proofed somewhat in the attacking areas with the arrivals of the likes of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho has also moved to Merseyside in the summer.

In other news, Liverpool star Sadio Mane finally joins Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich
