Two Liverpool stars excluded from Champions League squad ahead of Napoli clash
Liverpool squad have released a list of 24 players for the UEFA Champions League group stages.
There are two notable omissions from Liverpool’s 24-player squad for the Champions League group stages.
After a challenging away game against Serie A club Napoli on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp’s team will also play Ajax and Rangers in Group A.
Liverpool duo of Naby Keita and Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain were both left out of Liverpool’s squad, which included two notable omissions.

Given that neither player seems likely to play anytime soon, this may provide some insight into how long their respective injuries will take to heal.

Due to their homegrown status and birthdates after January 1, 2001, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are eligible despite not being on the 24-player list.
Both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are currently suffering respective injuries and this gives a reason why they have been excluded from the squad for the group stages.
The Champions League fixtures are compacted this season due to the World Cup and as a result, will finish on 1st November 2022.
