Liverpool ‘increasingly confident of agreeing terms with £50m midfielder

Liverpool have reportedly opened ‘talks’ with star midfielder Naby Keita in the hope to keep him at Anfield beyond his current deal.

The 25-year-old who is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season was rumoured to have been unhappy with his situation at Liverpool in the summer and open to a move away.

Despite the Guinea International’s reported desire in the summer to potentially leave Anfield, the Reds would like to try and secure the long-term of the midfielder.

However, Football Insider claims that Liverpool are “increasingly confident” in keeping Keita at Anfield despite reports that clubs like Borussia Dortmund and his former team Leipzig are interested in signing him.

Keita finally joined the team a year after being acquired for nearly £50 million in 2017, as a deal with RB Leipzig was reached in advance for one of the Bundesliga’s most fascinating players.

Keita, who came to Merseyside with a lot of promise, has struggled with his fitness and consistency while playing in the starting XI. However, Keita has shown flashes of what he can offer.

Hopefully, Liverpool will reach an agreement with Keita, as they are currently short of players in the middle of the park.
