Ryan Gravenberch makes feelings known on joining the Reds after Liverpool agree to contract demands
Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch’s response to questions about a possible summer transfer to Anfield has fueled rumours that he might quit Bayern Munich.
Even though the Bayern Munich midfielder has been quiet on a possible summer move to Anfield, Ryan Gravenberch couldn’t help but smile when asked about transfer interest from Liverpool.
The 20-year-old Gravenberch has become a target for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who wants to drastically overhaul his midfield options before the 2023–24 season.
After a difficult Premier League season, Liverpool are expected to acquire more than one midfielder in the summer after withdrawing from the battle for Borussia Dortmund talisman Jude Bellingham. And the Mersyside club has turned their attention to Gravenberch, whose price would be far lower.
BILD have reported that Gravenberch couldn’t contain his smile when a potential move to Anfield was brought up, indicating that an opportunity to join the former Premier League champions would certainly appeal.

The former Ajax starlet was reluctant to comment when asked about interest from the Reds following Bayern Munich’s Champions League elimination last week.
Prior to the summer transfer window, the Reds have already discussed a move with Ryan Gravenberch Sr. and his agent, Jose Fortes Rodriguez.
And Liverpool have agreed to match the midfielder’s current salary, which would mean putting together a contract worth around £200,000-a-week. It remains to be seen how much Bayern Munich would demand to sell the youngster, though, who they acquired in a £16.3million deal from Ajax last summer.
Since joining the German powerhouses, Gravenberch has struggled to get regular starts and has grown dissatisfied with his supporting role at the Allianz Arena. The superstar would have the chance to establish himself as a pillar of Liverpool’s redesigned squad for the 2023–24 season by moving to Anfield.
Gravenberch would be a much better economical choice for Liverpool than keeping on their pursuit of Bellingham, but Manchester United and other teams are also interested in the Bayern star, so competition for his services is sure to be fierce.
In recent weeks, a number of other top midfielders, like Mason Mount of Chelsea, have been mentioned as potential transfers to Merseyside. The Blues academy graduate is currently involved in a contract dispute with his club and may become available for a discounted price if the Londoners opt to sell at the end of the current campaign.
Wolves duo of Matheus Nunes and Ruben Neves are also believed to be on the Reds radar.
Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and West Ham captain Declan Rice have been linked to Liverpool in recent months; however, both would command significant transfer fees which could rule them out of the options.
