According to rumors in France, Jurgen Klopp has expressed interest in Martin Terrier of Rennes as a potential Roberto Firmino “replacement,” and Liverpool FC may sign the Frenchman to take Firmino’s place.

The Reds have surprisingly changed their frontline in recent months, adding former Benfica striker Darwin Nunez to their lineup this summer and acquiring Colombian winger Luis Diaz from Porto in January.

Sadio Mane left Anfield after six years in order to join Bayern Munich, but Mohamed Salah has finally renewed his contract with the team and will stay there until 2025.

The trio of Salah, Mane, and Roberto Firmino, which propelled the Reds to UEFA Champions League and Premier League victories, is no longer together, and Firmino’s own future is still up in the air.

The Brazilian international, who joined the Reds from TSG Hoffenheim in 2015 under the previous boss Brendan Rodgers, has just one year left on his current contract.

Firmino, who is getting close to the age of 31, has not yet started talking to the team about a potential contract extension, and it is anticipated that he will be free to go in the summer of 2023.

In light of this, the French publication l’Équipe reports that the Reds admire Stade Rennais forward Terrier and may pursue him if and when

The 25-year-old completed Lille’s youth program in the nation’s north before relocating to the south to join Lyon in 2018.

After spending two seasons with the team, he was given another transfer, this time to Rennes, where his performance has been particularly strong.

He scored 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games last year for a team that finished fourth to earn a spot in the UEFA Europa League.

Bruno Genesio, the team’s manager, had previously worked with Terrier at Lyon for a season.

Terrier was named the official team of the season after winning the Ligue 1 player of the month title for March earlier this year.

According to the report, he is a target for both Leeds United and West Ham United this summer.
