Fabrizio Romano reveals shocking details about reports of Juventus approach for Liverpool star

Famous Journalist, Fabrizio Romano has rubbished claims that Juventus has made a summer offer to Liverpool for Bobby Firmino’s services.

This comes after rumours by Ekrem Konur and Tutto Juve that the Reds had received a £20 million deal, although both sources said that the price was not at all suitable.

“So far Juventus have not approached Liverpool for Roberto Firmino,” the Italian told Caught Offside.

“The situation is totally quiet – Jurgen Klopp considers him part of the project, especially because a lot of resources are needed in the World Cup season.

“Still, in my opinion, it’s not looking like he’ll be a regular for Liverpool this season, which is a shame because he’s a great talent.

“I’m sure he can still contribute a lot to Klopp’s team, but if he found a club where he could be a key player he would really get his magic back.

“Leaving Liverpool will be difficult, though. They have sold players already this summer, with Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi leaving. I doubt there is much desire to sell more.”

The Brazilian international is at risk of leaving on a free transfer next summer since Liverpool are yet to offer him a contract extension to keep him beyond 2023.

At 30, there is significantly less trust in the striker to equal Mo Salah’s top-quality at the level needed.

Nevertheless, the player’s manager has given the former Bundesliga superstar something of a vote of confidence by insisting that the player was back to his best and still very much a world-class player.

Early indications from the preseason would more than support that claims, but whether or not the No. 9 receives a new contract will mostly depend on how well he performs on the field in competitive games.
