Manchester United set to seal deal for first January signing after contact with player.
Manchester United are on the verge of securing the deal for River plate winger Julian Alvarez according to reports.
United are expected to have a busy winter following the arrival of new interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Though the Red Devils’ priority still remains the defence and midfield. Despite being well-stocked in attacking quarters, United continues to be linked with forward players.
According to Argentine news outlet Ole, which suggests United ‘put in a call’ last week and expressed interest in the Argentina international, which has continued to attract widespread attention as per MEN.
The winger is a target of top European clubs, the likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich, who are monitoring him.
The 21-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of next year, has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, netting 18 goals and six assists in just 21 league appearances.
Alvarez is said to have a release clause of €20m, which will almost certainly be activated in January.
