Supercomputer predicts 12-point gap between Liverpool & Man City by end of Premier league season
Liverpool FC have been tipped to finish 12 points behind eventual winners Manchester City in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
According to statistics gathered and evaluated by FiveThirtyEight (via the Yorkshire Post), the Reds are expected to bounce back from their rocky start to the season and place ahead of London clubs Tottenham and Arsenal in the top four slots.
For the Sky Blues, it would be a third consecutive championship, a feat not accomplished since Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at city rivals Manchester United (in the Premier League era).
For our fellow Reds supporters, it’s an unpleasant possibility that Jurgen Klopp will make an effort to avoid, despite continued worries about our performance and the midfield injury crisis.
We shouldn’t be hasty to give up and presume our local competitors will prevail when there are only eight points separating us from the reigning champions (Liverpool have a game in hand).
That may very well rely on how effectively we are able to prevent other important player injuries and establish consistency in outcomes, which is likely given the opportunity given to the German strategist to train with his team while many league games were postponed.
