Sadio Mane to sends classy message to Liverpool amid poor season without him
Liverpool have struggled for form since Senegal international Sadio Mane completed a transfer to German champions Bayern Munich last summer.
Former Reds star Sadio Mane is “convinced” Liverpool “will be back” amid their struggles this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled for form since Mane, left for Bayern Munich last summer. The Reds currently sit seventh in the Premier League – nine points behind Tottenham in fourth with two games in hand. They have also been dumped out of the FA Cup.
Liverpool are also on the verge of being knocked out of the Champions League. They lost 5-2 at home to Real Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 tie and have a mountain to climb in the Spanish capital on March 15. Yet Mane is not too worried about his former club.
Liverpool will be back,” Mane told German outlet Bild. “I’m convinced they will overcome this situation. They had many injuries and tough tests, but Jurgen Klopp is definitely the right man. He will lead Liverpool back up, from this season – the players love him.”

Recently, Liverpool seemed to have made progress. Their past three Premier League games have yielded seven points, reviving their hopes of finishing in the top four. The team of Klopp will be trying to beat Wolves at home on Wednesday.
Liverpool will soon play many crucial Premier League matches. They play Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and league leaders Arsenal in four of their following seven home games. A victory against one of those groups would give Klopp’s squad new life.
The loss to Real will worry Liverpool fans, many of whom think that the sale of Mane was a factor in their failure. Six trophies, including the Premier League championship, were won by the Senegal international during his six brilliant years on Merseyside.
Mane’s stay in Germany hasn’t quite gone according to plan. He has recently returned from a three-month injury layoff that prevented him from playing at the World Cup in Qatar and has only scored six Bundesliga goals. The forward returned last time out against Union Berlin.
Bayern’s Bundesliga form has also been indifferent. The German giants are top of the table, but only on goal difference. That being said, they are going strong in the Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain in France during the first leg of their last-16.
Mane insists he has no regrets over the transfer and would have only joined Bayern after leaving Liverpool. The former Southampton star enjoyed a two-year spell with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg earlier in his career. He added, “I never had doubts.
“When I decided to leave Liverpool, I only wanted to go to Bayern, to the Bundesliga. I know the league from my time in Salzburg, I didn’t watch Premier League back then, but the Bundesliga. Bayern was very attractive to me back then.”
Mane has also insisted he does not “see any team bigger than Bayern” in Germany and believes they are “one of the biggest in the world”. He continued: “The history of the club is attractive – that was the case for me when I decided to move to Munich.”
