REVEALED: How Liverpool came close to signing Real Madrid Star in the summer for €100m

Recent reports state that in the final few days of the summer transfer window, Liverpool launched a startling €100 million (£86 million) bid for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.

Liverpool FC – This time around, there have been reports saying in Spain that German manager Jurgen Klopp tried to sign Federico Valverde from Real Madrid at the last minute.

Due to several injuries to most of their key midfielders during the current 2022–23 season, the Anfield team faced difficulty.

The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been some of the few names that have gotten long-term and short-term injuries.

Jurgen Klopp was left with little alternative but to enter the transfer market as a result of this. The German was always clear that he would not plan to do something unless the “perfect player” was available.

In a loan deal that was finalized in the closing seconds of the transfer market, Merseyside selected Juventus player Arthur Melo to help resolve the midfield crisis.

According to the cover of Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Liverpool made a €100 million (£86 million) bid for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde

The Uruguayan’s transfer to the Anfield club has been mentioned several times, but the report claims that the Reds eventually made a decision to make a bid two days before the transfer market closed.

Federico Valverde appeared to be the exception to Liverpool’s rule of not offering a significant fee for a player they have been following for a considerable amount of time.

It is not clear if Liverpool would renew their chase in January or even if they would prefer to sign the 24-year-old over highly-rated Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
