Liverpool have been linked with a late swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, who has attracted interest from other top Premier League sides
After Liverpool were rumored to be interested in acquiring the Portugal star prior to the transfer deadline, Ruben Neves expressed his adoration for Thiago Alcantara.

Due to a string of injuries, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged the Reds may need to look for a new midfielder.
Thiago is one of those on the sidelines after limping off against Fulham on the first weekend of the season, but his absence didn’t stop Jurgen Klopp’s squad from defeating Bournemouth by nine goals on Saturday in a victory that tied a record.
Ruben Neves as well as Konrad Laimer of Austria and Jude Bellingham of England are some of those who have been mentioned in connection with Neves.
The 25-year-old has also made no secret of his passion for Liverpool’s number six, even if it seems more likely than not that he will stay at Molineux.
“When I played [Eden] Hazard it was unbelievable, just impossible to take the ball from him,” Neves told The Times when quizzed about the opponents he admires the most.
“I always speak about Thiago Alcântara who is one of the best I’ve played against.
“And then you have [N’Golo] Kanté,” he added. “He is unbelievable. Defensively and offensively.”
“One of the things I miss most is the Champions League, it’s the best competition in the world to play in. So let’s try to achieve that,” he said
Neves was speaking after taking the Wolves armband from Conor Coady.
Long-serving defender Coady has made a loan move to Everton for the season, having made more than 300 appearances in old gold
“It’s impossible to replace him,” Neves said. “We are not the same, no one is the same.
“We have different ways to lead. Conor was more communication, I try to lead by example.”
Bruno Lage’s team, which Coady led as captain the previous season, spent the majority of the campaign in the running for European qualification.
They failed to win any of their final seven games, though, and ended up in ninth place.
Neves made 36 appearances across all competitions last season, starting 31 of them games.
He now has more than 200 appearances for Wolves since joining the team in 2017, when they were still in the Championship.
