Manchester United enters race to sign wantaway Premier League star.
Manchester United have become the latest club to join the race for Chelsea star Antonio Rüdiger, according to claims from Germany.
The defender has just over six months left on his current contract and the Blues’ attempts to retain him beyond this season have been fruitless so far.
The 28-year-old is reluctant to sign an extension as his demands were not met by the Premier League club.
His contractual situation and the good performances of the Champions League champions have led to the repetition of claims linking the center-back with other clubs.
An earlier report had suggested that the German international could agree on a contract with Real Madrid where he could be offered as much as €4000,000 per week.
He has also been linked with a move to French giants Paris Saint Germain and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Deutschland, the Red Devils have now become an ‘additional contender’, and have ‘now entered the transfer poker’ to sign the player.
While Rüdiger continues to be reluctant to sign a new deal at Chelsea, his suitor list keeps growing
