Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp delivers a honest verdict on Erling Haaland’s Manchester City move
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has shared his thoughts on Manchester City’s signing of striker Erling Haaland.
Klopp has admitted that the Norwegian improves City and is an excellent acquisition. According to Sky Sports, Manchester City will pay Dortmund €60 million to release Haaland.
Manchester City can confirm that an agreement in principle has been agreed with Borussia Dortmund for forward Erling Haaland to join the club on July 1, 2022.
The deal is contingent on the Club and the player agreeing to terms.
On Tuesday, May 10, the Reds defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park in the Premier League. Klopp stated after the game (via the Evening Standard):
“How much better does he make them? A lot! Unfortunately he’s a really good signing. He is a beast. Unfortunately a really good signing.”
In 88 games for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions, the Norwegian has 85 goals and 23 assists. As a result, it’s no surprise that Klopp dubbed him a “beast.”
City has already surpassed Liverpool as the league’s joint top scorer this season, with 89 goals in less games. It will be fascinating to see if Haaland can add to these totals as projected.
