‘If he played at Liverpool’ – Virgil van Dijk names the one player he would love to play alongside
Virgil van Dijk has stated that Kevin De Bruyne is the one player he most desires to have played with.
The 31-year-old Netherlands captain was speaking to former Manchester United defender Gary Neville when Neville asked him who he would most like to play on the field with, either at the club or international level.

“Kevin De Bruyne. I think he’s unbelievable,” the Dutchman told The Overlap (via the Express).
“If he played at Liverpool, we would have gone even further than we already have. I think he’s outstanding. Good on the ball, pressing, scoring. He’s got everything that a modern-day midfielder should have. As a footballer, he’s an outstanding player.”
It’s difficult to dispute that the Belgian is a world-class player, despite the fact that he represents Manchester City’s rivals.
His exceptional ability to score and set up goals makes it interesting to think about how much stronger Jurgen Klopp’s team may be if they were to sign the former Wolfsburg player.
This season, the City No. 17 has contributed to 12 goals and three assists in all competitions, and he is a key component of Pep Guardiola’s team.
Over the past few years, Van Dijk has established himself as one of, if not the finest, defenders in the world and has engaged in numerous clashes with De Bruyne.
