Liverpool have been strongly linked with Real Madrid star who Fabrizio Romano said would be “perfect” for Premier League clubs.

Liverpool could reportedly make a bid to sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder Marco Asensio in January.

Asensio’s future at Real Madrid has generated a great deal of rumors. The Spaniard was reportedly offered to Premier League clubs throughout the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, who recently verified this to CaughtOffside via his Substack blog.

Asensio’s Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and Romano has confirmed there is no agreement to extend it. As a result, Asensio may be leaving Real Madrid at that time.

SPORT now reports that Arsenal and AC Milan will compete with Liverpool for Asensio’s services in January.

Before suffering some terrible knee injuries, Asensio was thought to be one of Europe’s most promising young players, and it is uncertain if he would be able to adjust to life in the Premier League.

Romano, however, thinks the Spanish international would excel in the English match.

“I think he would be perfect in the Premier League, or in the Bundesliga, but also in Serie A, as AC Milan has appreciated him for a long time,” said Romano.

The Italian journalist clearly believes in Asensio and the talent he possesses, and with it looking increasingly unlikely that he will sign a new contract at Real Madrid, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
