Liverpool Face Strong Competition from Premier League rivals For star Midfielder

Liverpool will battle fellow Premier League side for Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella in the January transfer window.

As per nLiverpool echo, Liverpool are set to face strong competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

As reported by Diretta Goal, the North London club are showing a keen interest in signing the 25-year-old Italian international in the future, with current boss Antonio Conte prioritising the player.

This news will will be a major setback for Liverpool, who have been after Barella for some time and are preparing a £60 million move for the midfielder in January, according to recent sources.

The Reds have been heavily linked to Barella over the summer, but no deal materialized, so they decided to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo on a season-long loan from Juventus instead.

Barella made a big impact in Serie A last season, contributing 13 assists and three goals in 36 games for Inter. It makes sense that he has been on the radar of several top European clubs.

The Italian would without a doubt be the ideal addition to this Liverpool squad. He would be an excellent addition due to his playing style, intensity, and desire for victory.

It was reported earlier this summer that Liverpool planned to use Naby Keita in a planned trade deal with Inter for Barella, but the club has laughed this off because Keita’s future is still up in the air.

Although there is no doubt that Barella is one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe, it won’t be an easy battle to secure his signing.
