Report: Liverpool to ‘monitor’ the performances of 20-year-old La Liga star at World Cup who jurgen Klopp wants at Anfield

Liverpool scouts are traveling to Qatar to “watch” Nico Williams’ performances because Jurgen Klopp apparently wants to add another winger to his roster.

According to a report by Fichajes, the Athletic Bilbao star had already been connected with a move to Anfield, and now that he has been selected for Luis Enrique’s World Cup team, the Merseysiders have the ideal opportunity to keep an eye on the 20-year-old attentively (via Sport Witness).

Although he’s not a lock to start for the Spaniards, after recently impressing for the Basque team, he has a chance to shine on the biggest of stages.

Williams, the younger brother of fellow Bilbao fan Inaki, has 15 appearances this season (across all competitions) and has four goals and four assists.

According to the source, the young player is content with the La Liga team and has a contract that lasts until 2024, but with other clubs keeping an eye on his position, Klopp’s team is thought to be “leading the race.”

With Bobby Firmino, Darwin Nunez, and Mo Salah all having had strong seasons, we already have a variety of alternatives at the top of the pitch.

Our German tactician might be eager to add another option in that department as Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are still out due to injuries.

The excellent cover they provided in attack when Taki Minamino and Divock Origi left the team in the summer has not yet been fully replaced.
