Reports- Liverpool ‘made £86.5m offer for Real Madrid’s superstar midfielder’ as transfer window ended

The Spanish powerhouses rejected Liverpool’s last-minute attempt to sign Real Madrid player Federico Valverde because they deemed the transfer offer to be “brutal” and “offensive.”

The Reds’ midfield has been decimated by a string of injuries that has already kept Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, and Naby Keita out of action.

Arthur Melo, a Juventus player, was eventually acquired by Jurgen Klopp and signed by the Reds on a season-long loan.

However, they didn’t make a move for the Brazilian until Real rejected the Reds’ offer for Valverde.

According to the Spanish publication Diario AS, the Spanish giants rejected Liverpool’s £86.5 million deal.

Real reportedly viewed the offer as “brutal” and “offensive,” and Los Blancos denied any notion that they would transfer the Uruguayan elsewhere.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2018 transfer from Madrid to Turin would have provided Los Blancos with a greater windfall, assuming Real had approved the transaction.

Valverde continues to be an important member of Carlo Ancelotti’s team and is under contract through 2027.

Federico Valverde has been referred to by Carlo Ancelotti as one of Real Madrid’s most crucial players.

This season, Valverde has already contributed two goals and two assists, and his manager gushed about his performance: “Federico is very crucial for us. One is a leader when he sets an example.

“He’s doing very well and is still very humble. This can help you to become a terrific leader in the future.

“There are a lot of people who can be leaders by example and not by their words. That’s very important.”
