Liverpool suffer huge blow as Jurgen Klopp names five players who are certain to miss West Ham Premier League clash
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed some really bad injury news ahead of the Reds Premier League clash with West Ham tomorrow evening.
The Reds will welcome David Moyes’s side to Anfield tomorrow for the 17:30 Premier League kick-off.
Liverpool are on the heels of league leaders Manchester City and a win tomorrow would cut the gap to just three points.
on the other hand, West Ham are well in the race for the fourth and final Champions League spot and an away win at Anfield will boost their confidence.
The Reds will be missing a few key players tomorrow perhaps as many as five.
Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Joel Matip, Thiago, and Curtis Jones all look set to miss the game at Anfield tomorrow according to Klopp, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo
“Strength in depth is really important, no doubt about that,” klopp told reporters. “Especially when you have to play in different competitions. But we have players who are not available.
“I’m pretty sure that nobody will tell me differently, because he didn’t train yesterday, that Thiago will not be available for tomorrow.
“Curtis is not bad but if it’s good enough to go again tomorrow, I don’t know. Joel Matip is ill. Not covid but he won’t be available.
“We played a tough game midweek so we still wait a little bit to see how everyone is in each moment. He added.
“All of a sudden from eight midfielders, Naby we don’t know, to three or four midfielders in a week. That can happen easily.
“It’s not we enjoy the full choice. You have the full choice one day then the other days you don’t have it.
“We have to make sure we stay as fit as possible because we have a lot of games to play in this upcoming month.”
When asked about Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita, he added: “Naby was not in the squad on Wednesday (for Norwich)
“Bobby is looking good but not for the weekend. The plan is he trains on Sunday for first time full.
“That sounds then doable for Tuesday (vs Inter Milan).”
