Latest Update on Roberto Firmino Liverpool’s future as Jurgen Klopp takes final decision

According to report, Liverpool are said to be offering Roberto Firmino a new deal as new Klopp attack plan is revealed.

Firmino’s future at the club is in doubt as his current contract expires in the summer of 2023 and Jurgen Klopp’s attack takes shape again.

According to Football Insider, a club source has disclosed that Liverpool plans to offer Firmino, who turns 31 in October a contract extension.

The report added that Manager Jurgen Klopp remains a huge admirer of the Brazil international and believes he still has a big role to play in the coming seasons.

Firmino has been virtually untouchable for most of Klopp’s reign and his arrival from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015 predated that of the manager.

But he has managed just seven Premier League starts this season and is no longer a customary first-choice.

Diogo Jota has appeared as the number one spearhead in the attack for the Reds on the back of his 17 goals this season.

However, Firmino was utilised in the central striker role in Thursday’s 2-0 win over Leicester City before he was replaced by Mohamed Salah in the 60th minute.

Firmino has netted seven goals this season, including four in the Premier League, from 22 appearances in all competitions and provided four assists.

He has now played 314 matches for Liverpool, scoring 94 times and providing 73 assists since joining the Reds in 2015.
