Report – Liverpool set to finally seal the deal for £85million star forward

According to the latest reports in the media, Liverpool are serious about signing Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez this summer.

The Reds will do everything possible to sign the Benfica player, according to Correio da Manha and that could see significant developments this week.

Chelsea, PSG, Man United, Barcelona, and Newcastle are all interested in the 22-year-old forward, according to a trusted Portuguese source, and Liverpool are willing to surpass everyone to sign him.

The Reds may lose Mane in the summer and according to CdM, Jurgen Klopp believes Nunez will be an excellent alternative.

According to reports, the Eagles aim to make a profit of 100 million euros (£85 million) from the sale of their prized asset and would prefer to do so quickly.

The former Almeria striker scored 26 goals and finished as the leading scorer in the Liga Nos. He also scored six goals in as many Champions League appearances. Not to mention the fact that he scored against Liverpool both at home and away.

Liverpool’s most versatile attacker is Sadio Mane. He is the only player who has excelled at the positions of LW, RW, and CF. Losing him would be a loss of depth in a number of positions.

Nunez is a talented striker who can help the Merseyside strengthen their attack, but with Mane gone, Klopp will be left with no one to cover Salah and Diaz in the wide attacking positions. As a result, the German manager will need to sign a versatile winger in addition to a centre forward.
