Ismaila Sarr of Watford has long been a target for Liverpool, but Fabrizio Romano claims that he is not their top priority right now.

Following Sarr’s outstanding solo goal for Watford against West Brom in their Championship matchup yesterday night, Romano hailed Sarr.

Although it appears Liverpool have never had discussions about signing the Senegal international, Sarr is highly regarded by Romano and in Romano’s opinion, is simply too good to not be playing at a higher level this season.

It’s simple to see how Sarr could be a great match for the Reds or other elite clubs, and Romano hinted that the 24-year-old could be a player who teams will keep an eye on in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

“What a goal from Ismaila Sarr last night as he reminded us all of his superb talent,” Romano wrote.

The Senegalese forward is unquestionably too talented for the Championship, but Watford will only move him in exchange for a significant offer.

Sarr can be a surprise from now until the end of the market. Liverpool has been following him for years, but they have never made any offers. Klopp is focused on other deals.

Given that Sarr plays in a similar manner to Sadio Mane, a fellow countryman who enjoyed a successful career at Liverpool until leaving for Bayern Munich this summer, Liverpool may be the ideal home for Sarr’s talents.

However, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are also included in Jurgen Klopp’s assault, so Sarr doesn’t appear to be necessary right now.
