“I am loyal but I am not too loyal.” – Jurgen Klopp speaks amid Liverpool struggles

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted at a potential overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The German has reaffirmed his commitment to the club for the long term. Both these pieces of information will be music to the ear of Liverpool fans.

According to Fabrizio Romano and his Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside’s Substack, the football journalist believes midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita may be among those to leave for free when their contracts expire later this summer.

In addition, stand-in second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has hinted that he may seek first-team opportunities elsewhere.

Klopp said, “At Dortmund, it was clear, when I left, I said, ‘something has to change here,’ it was a different situation. If nobody tells me, I will not go.

“Maybe there is a point where we must change other stuff. We will see that. But again, it’s something for the future, like the future in the summer, but not now.”

He added, “I am loyal, but I am not too loyal. If you can then go out and bring in another player to replace, that makes sense.

For both sides, good idea, it was a great time, see you later. If you cannot bring anybody in, though, you cannot move anybody out.”

“As far as I am concerned, if nobody tells me, I will not go. So that means maybe there’s a point were we have to change other stuff… But again that’s something for the future.”
