Liverpool transfer news: Jude Bellingham latest as Borussia Dortmund chief gives public update

Liverpool are in the market to sign a midfielder in January as Jurgen Klopp tries to rejuvenate his squad but there has been no significant movement on any targets.

Some Liverpool supporters are concerned about the club’s lack of activity with two weeks left before the January transfer market closes, particularly in the midfield area.

Cody Gakpo’s £45 million transfer from PSV to strengthen Liverpool’s attack was the only acquisition the Reds had made this month.

Jurgen Klopp’s attention may now be on the middle, though, as Jamie Carragher urged the Reds to sign a midfielder after their 3-1 loss to Brentford earlier this month.

One of the many players linked to the Reds is Jude Bellingham. Other names mentioned as potential targets include Leicester star Youri Tielemans, Brighton duo Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, and Brighton duo Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has suffered a significant setback in their pursuit.

Kehl affirms there are no Bellingham offers.
Sebastian Kehl, the head of Borussia Dortmund, has stated that despite rumors tying midfielder Jude Bellingham to a transfer to Liverpool, the club has not received any proposals for him.

The Reds have been pursuing the 19-year-old for a while now after he made an impression at Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Champions League, but signing Bellingham could be difficult.

“Jude has made an incredible development here. With the way he plays football, his fighting spirit and his commitment, he has become a real Borussia player who identifies very much with BVB,” Kehl told Kicker.

“I can’t say today if and when that will be the case with Jude, and from a purely sporting point of view I would be stupid to want to give up Jude Bellingham.

“We’ll talk to him and his parents in due course. There is currently no pressure. Jude wants to concentrate fully on football. And by the way, there are no offers at all.”
