In the second half, Virgil van Dijk gave Liverpool the lead against a resolute Wolves team with a close-range strike.
The Wanderers No. 1 had successfully saved the Dutchman’s initial header, but after Diogo Jota sprang to the goalline to keep play going, he made sure his second attempt would count.
Despite the match’s plodding pace and the Reds’ dominance of the most of the action, it must be noted that the advantage was well-deserved.
