Marco Asensio sends Mohamed Salah transfer message amid link to La Liga
Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Marco Asensio says Mohamed Salah is ‘one of the best players in the world amid rumours linking him with a move to La Liga.
The Egyptian is out of contract with Liverpool in 2023 and has yet to sign a new contract to extend his stay at Anfield.
With the uncertainty looming in recent months, rumours have emerged from Spain suggesting either Barcelona or Real Madrid could sign the Egyptian.
Salah has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers this term with 22 goals on the top Premier League scorers chart. Amid the rumours, Asensio has suggested the 29-year-old is already at a ‘wonderful’ club.
Ascension said to Egyptian outlet Dostor: “Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world, and he was at the forefront of football for many years, he is in a wonderful club like Liverpool, who fought and competed in great battles to win great titles over many years.
“Salah, in short, is a player with a special and great talent and a very good left foot that he plays with distinction, it is always a pleasure to watch any game he plays in.”
Liverpool super star opened up on his ongoing contract negotiations in his latest interview with FourFourTwo magazine.
Salah said: “I don’t know, I have one year left. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract, it’s not everything about the money at all. So I don’t know, I can’t tell you exactly. I have one year left and the fans know what I want.
“This club means a lot to me – I’ve enjoyed my football here more than anywhere, I gave the club everything and everybody saw that. I’ve had a lot of unbelievable moments here, winning trophies, individual goals, individual trophies. It’s like a family here.
“I’m not worried, I don’t let myself worry about something. The season didn’t finish yet, so let’s finish it in the best possible way – that’s the most important thing. Then in the last year, we’re going to see what’s going to happen.”
