Cristiano Ronaldo has frequently given the decisive touch for club and country, but following a flawless pass from Diogo Jota, he failed to do so for Portugal.
After making an outstanding tackle on Dani Carvajal, Diogo Jota gained possession of the ball high up the field and passed it to the 37-year-old.
The Manchester United forward was given the chance to give his or her country the advantage over Spain.
The opportunity was lost when Unai Simon stopped his left-footed shot.
It turned out to be a costly error because the Spaniards went on to win the match 1-0 courtesy to an Alvaro Morata goal that was scored shortly after our attacker was replaced.
