(Video) Confidence boost for Darwin Nunez as he jumps the highest and scores bullet header for Uruguay
Darwin Nunez has silenced his critics tonight after scoring for Uruguay against Canada.
The 23-year-old has come under fire for his recent performances after failing to live up to the high standards that many had set for him after moving for £64 million from Benfica to Liverpool earlier this summer.
The Reds’ number 27 made a fierce attempt to score against Iran last week, but he was successful this time after hammering in a header against Canada.
Nunez successfully generated a significant amount of power on his header to give the goalkeeper no chance by leaping high over the defender.
It’s fair to claim that Nunez had done virtually little in a Red shirt after his return from suspension, but it is still early and time must be given to him to prove himself for the reds
