Benfica vs Liverpool highlights: Watch all the goals and highlights as the Reds beat Benfica 3-1 in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg on Tuesday.

Both sides tried to establish their authority in the opening stages, but it was the Reds who came out on top, with Jürgen Klopp’s side managing to largely calm a passionate home crowd in Lisbon.

Liverpool took the lead in the opening 20 minutes from a corner from Andy Robertson, who was caught by Ibrahima Konate, who nodded the Reds up front with his first goal of the season.

10 minute before the half time whistle Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose raking ball forward was met by Luis Diaz, who headed the ball across the goal for Sadio Mane to make it 2-0.

The host were given renewed hope at the start of the second half as an error by Konate as Darwin Nunez, made mistake from close range to make it 2-1.

In the 87th minute, Luis Diaz made it 3-1 as the Reds establish their advantage in the second leg next week.
