Jurgen Klopp’s team had a terrible start to the season but started to turn things around shortly before the World Cup break.

The German manager will specifically want to address his midfield concerns as he looks to add additions during the January window to improve his club throughout the second half of the season.

There will also be players leaving, and the winter window may see up to six players leave Anfield.

Nat Phillips, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bobby Clark (on loan), Ben Doak (on loan), and surprise Roberto Firmino could all depart Anfield in January, claims the Liverpool Echo.

Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain have the most chance of leaving Liverpool due to the impending arrival of a new midfielder and the expiration of their contracts in the summer.

Firmino’s contract expires in the summer as well, but it would be surprising if the Brazilian left given how well he has performed for Klopp’s team thus far this season and the German coach’s injury concerns in the attacking third with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota out for some time.
