“That is not what I want” – Ralf Rangnick sends strong warning message to Manchester United midfield stars

“Next is not what I want” – Ralf Rangnick sends strong warning message to Manchester United midfield stars, despite win over Crystal Palace.
Manchester United Interim boss, Ralf Rangnick guided his side to their first Premier League win under his reign.
The German tactician was full of praise for Fred and Scott Mc Tominay following their display in the 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
However, he revealed that there is an aspect of their display he didn’t like. The duo put up a solid, disciplined display at the theatres of dreams with the Brazilian bagging the only goal of the game with a brilliant, right-footed finish that curled into the top corner.
Rangnick gave Fred and Mc Tominay a huge amount of defensive duties as he fielded a very attack-minded front four. He was pleased with their work off the ball, still will be looking to stop some sloppy square passes he discovered during the game.
Speaking after the match at a press conference “If you play the way that we played today, with regard to intensity, being on the front foot, said Rangnick
“playing very proactively, and having four offensive players ahead of Scotty and Fred with Jadon, Bruno, Cristiano, and Marcus it’s highly important that you have players who are very disciplined, who are proactively aggressive against the ball.
“And both Scotty and Fred are almost perfect defensively on that. They did one or two or three mistakes, especially in the first half there were two square passes one from Scott, one from Fred. he added
“I don’t like those kinds of balls in midfield in those positions. But overall, when the other team has the ball, both Fred and Scotty they are almost perfect for that kind of football.”
Ralf Rangnick also praised the performance of Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes haven handed them new roles in his first game in charge of Manchester United.
“The most challenging, the most demanding, positions in that formation are the two 10s but I still think, especially when Palace were in possession of the ball, Jadon and Bruno did well even in those positions.
“For them, it was a little bit new not that new because it’s not that much of a difference if Jadon plays a little bit further outside or inside, but defensively they both did well.”
Next for United is a home game against Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League, on Wednesday, December, 8 as they look to remain top of Group F.
