“He should be in League1″- Pundit says managers will be targeting this Liverpool weak link
Trent Alexander-Arnold has come under fire from Jamie O’Hara for being a big weak link in the Liverpool defence, claiming that he is just League One standard defensively despite being Champions League class offensively.
O’Hara believes that managers will now be instructing their attacking players to target the England international on that right-hand side as a result of his significant decline this season, which appears to be having an impact on Liverpool’s results and performances.
At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal defeated Liverpool 3-2, and Gabriel Martinelli had a field day against him. O’Hara told talkSPORT that Alexander-Arnold and LFC in general looked like a mess at the back.
Speaking to Talksports he said “Trent AA is a League 1 defender but he’s Champions League going forward!
Teams know they can go at Trent AA. Get the ball out left and go 1 on 1 with him!
Trent is all over the place!”
Laura Woods disagreed with O’Hara’s opinion of Alexander-defensive Arnold’s performance as League One standard, but the former Tottenham midfielder was firm in his claim.
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and other key players like Alexander-Arnold need to quickly return to their best in order for Liverpool to overcome their current problems.
