Liverpool to complete the signing of €80m stars as personal terms already agreed
Despite reports that star midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has chosen to join Real Madrid this summer, Liverpool are determined to go ahead and sign him.
The two clubs are set to battle it out for the Champions League trophy on Saturday and the subplot is their behind-closed-doors race to sign the French midfielder.
The Reds’ situation has been made more difficult by the surprising announcement that Kylian Mbappe has agreed to stay at PSG for another three years. Real Madrid are desperate to avoid being disgraced in the transfer market once more.
This means that Liverpool are going to have to pull out all the stops to land the 22-year-old.
Real Madrid do not yet have a “full agreement” to sign Aurelien Tchouameni and Liverpool “will accelerate” their attempts to convince the Frenchman to join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield next season, according to Santi Aouna.
The report adds that PSG are not yet out of the race even if Madrid are in the lead and Liverpool are second-favourites to sign him.
AS Monaco and the player both “seem to be in a hurry” to end the saga although it has just started. Liverpool would likely also like to put an end to speculation by signing the player but it’s unlikely to be that simple.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will pay the €80m price tag that has been slammed on Tchouameni for interested suitors.
