Liverpool reaches agreement in principle to seal first summer signing
According to reports Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle to sign Fabio Carvalho from Fulham in the summer.
The Reds came close to landing the 19-year-old attacking midfielder, on deadline day in January but could not process the agreed £8million deal before the window shut.
As Per Football Insider Liverpool have recommenced negotiations with Carvalho and have an ‘agreement in principle with him to join when he becomes a free agent at the end of June.
Personal terms have been agreed with the Portugal Under-21 international and the deal is in place.
There were fears that the deal could be hijacked by a Premier League or European rival willing to meet Fulham’s asking price.
However, the Merseysiders are confident they will seal the deal after Carvalho undergoes a medical at the end of the last window.
Carvalho will be a free agent from the end of June but the fee will be millions as the west London club will be due a significant compensation fee for development costs.
Carvalho has been a key player for Fulham, netting 8 goals and providing six assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
