“Liverpool is a great club” – watch Marco Asensio send Liverpool transfer message after real Madrid set his asking price

Liverpool have already been active in the transfer market this summer, with Jurgen Klopp landing two key targets, but the German could be persuaded to add to his roster.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be pleased with the summer transfer transactions his club has already completed, having completed two before the beginning of July.

Darwin Nunez, a 34-goal Uruguayan forward, shattered the club’s transfer record by joining from Benfica for £85 million, replacing Sadio Mane, who is set to join Bayern Munich for £35 million.

On Saturday, the German backed up the marquee signing with a long-term commitment, buying Aberdeen’s highly-rated full-back Calvin Ramsay for £4 million, which could climb to £6.5 million with add-ons.

However, with Manchester City and Tottenham already bolstering their squads, Klopp will understand that they cannot afford to stop spending too soon, with additional signings possible this summer. Mirror Football brings you the most up-to-date transfer news and rumours from Merseyside.

Reds learn Asensio price

Liverpool has been informed of the cost of signing Marco Asensio from Real Madrid this summer, with the La Liga giants placing a €40 million (£35 million) price tag above his head.

Klopp is keen in bringing Asensio to Anfield, according to Diario AS, and the Reds have already alerted the player’s representation of their interest.

AC Milan are also interested in signing the winger and are expected to compete with the Champions League runners-up for his services.

Liverpool has responded to Mohamed Salah’s last contract offer.

Asensio’s present contract has only one year left on it, and there are uncertainties about whether he will extend it.

Despite making a full recovery from a major knee injury, he is only expected to play a minor role in Carlo Ancelotti’s team next season.

The 26year old scored 10 goals in 31 La Liga outings only 19 of which were starts, show he is back to his best.

With speculations suggesting that Mohamed Salah could leave on a free transfer next summer, Klopp may see Asensio as a long-term successor who can offer additional creativity to an already talented frontline.
