Liverpool certain to seal Jude Bellingham deal following Kalvin Philip’s transfer to Man City
Liverpool believes that Kalvin Philips’s imminent move to Manchester City has now placed them in pole position to sign Jude Bellingham
The Reds are said to be interested in Borussia Dortmund youngster, Jude Bellingham, who has made waves across Europe despite just being only 18-year-old.
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp is repo a big fan of the England international, who might be the next star to depart Dortmund in a high-profile move.
Current Premier League champions, Manchester City are expected to announce the signing of Leeds star Phillips, indicating that they have less of a need for a new midfielder than the Reds have.
However, The Sun reports despite Liverpool’s ‘confidence’ it’s likely there will be a tug-of-war between City and Liverpool for Bellingham.
According to the source, Pep Guardiola is a fan of the 18-year-old as well and is hoping that Bellingham’s friendship with recent addition Erling Haaland, who played with him at Dortmund, will convince him to come with City.
With the addition of Haaland and Phillips, City’s summer spending will have reached just under £100 million as they strive for a seventh Premier League championship.
Meanwhile, Liverpool signed former Benfica forward, Darwin Nunez in a deal that may have cost up to £85 million.
Given that Dortmund did not feel the need to sell Bellingham this summer after earning over £54 million for Haaland, it has been speculated that Bellingham will be Liverpool’s major signing next summer.
