Jude Bellingham ‘expected’ to join Liverpool as Reds risk losing Naby Keita for free
Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is ‘expected’ to join Liverpool as Reds risk losing Naby Keita for free
Naby Keita is not expected to be sold by Liverpool this summer, but they are willing to take the chance of losing the Guinean international for almost nothing next year.
According to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, the Reds’ No. 8 is reportedly unhappy with the amount of playing time he is getting at Anfield.
while England international Bellingham is prepared to move to Anfield next summer.
Bellingham is expected to make the switch to Anfield.
Since leaving RB Leipzig in 2018, Keita has struggled to live up to expectations. He has missed a significant number of games due to repeated injuries, most recently due to illness.
He was used as a substitute on Monday night as Jurgen Klopp’s team were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at home.
Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, and Fabino are just a few of the midfield alternatives the Reds currently have and many Liverpool supporters feel that area needs improvement during the current window.
But given that Klopp has continued to express confidence in the “size and strength” of his team, it seems unlikely that the club would add any more players before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Thiago, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all sidelined through injury which is also not helping matters at the moment.
Bellingham is a great talent and is an England International who already has Champions League experience under his belt with Dortmund.
He appears to be a player that will fit perfectly into the team so it’s therefore understandable why the Reds are willing to wait for his services until next year.
Although he has the potential to be our midfield’s star for at least the next 10 years, the rumours that Keita will leave during the current transfer window are worrisome.
It wouldn’t make sense to lose a player in a crucial section of the pitch without replacing him, even though he may not have performed to the levels many expected of him after his £52 million move from the Bundesliga.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will finally bring Bellingham to Anfield next summer.
