“I feel sorry for him” Carragher laments over Liverpool youngster Morton that was abandoned by his teammates

“I feel sorry for him” Carragher laments over Liverpool youngster Morton that was abandoned by his teammates.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed that Teenage midfielder Tyler Morton was abandoned by his Reds teammates on Sunday night clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old midfielder made his full Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw against Spurs.
Liverpool suffered midfield crisis just before the game with Thiago Alcantara having tested positive for Covid-19 while Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were absent.
In the absence of his key players, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had no choice but to turn to academy graduate Kirkby.
And while Morton never shied away from the task, the teenager certainly struggled at times and Klopp replaced him in the second half.
speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher claims that his Liverpool teammates did him no favours by leaving him ‘exposed’ too often.
He said: “Liverpool had a big problem in midfield. I felt a bit for Tyler Morton. He was exposed. He was left on his own too often.”
Hopefully, Klopp has been reassuring Morton after the game.
Having faced players the likes of Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele for Tottenham.
Say what you want about both of them, but Alli’s skill is well established, even if he’s not around lately, and Ndombele is as powerful a running midfielder as you’ll find in the Premier League.
This was such a difficult first full Premier League debut for the youngster, against an Antonio Conte side.
However, the good news is that, in theory, his next outing should be a lot easier.
Liverpool fans will hope for better performance when they host Brendan Rodgers Leicester City side on Wednesday night at Anfield.
