According to reports from Ecuador obtained by the Liverpool Echo, the Reds’ massive £62 million approach to buy him before Chelsea did was turned down.

Since joining the Seagulls from Independiente del Valle in 2021, Caicedo has consistently made an impression. The contract of the 21-year-old has 2.5 years left on it.

It is uncertain whether Liverpool will submit a second bid before the transfer window closes or decide to pursue other prospects.
