Report: Liverpool in pole position to secure sensational Jude Bellingham deal in January
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to spend a significant amount of money to get Jude Bellingham, and a blockbuster January deal is likely.
The Merseysiders have expressed interest in the 19-year-old midfield star and have had early discussions with brokers regarding a potential transfer.
Liverpool has been working hard behind the scenes to establish a solid bond with Bellingham’s team and has made headway on the full plan of what would be a club-record deal.
Liverpool is thought to be in best position to recruit one of the most sought-after players in the world, despite intense interest from rival teams like Real Madrid, Man City, and Chelsea.
Many sources claim that his father, Mark Bellingham, has a much greater impact on his superstar son’s career than agents or middlemen.
Although winning a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season will play a significant role in the choice, Bellingham Senior thinks Liverpool would be a fantastic fit for his son.
Bellingham is expected to be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund, even in January, though a summer transfer is now seen to be more likely.
The midfielder’s current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and the German club has made no headway toward extending it.
His valuation has soared beyond the £100million mark and that could increase further if he maintains his dazzling form this season with a stellar World Cup for England.
The Liverpool recruitment team has selected Bellingham as the dynamic central midfielder they need to bring their club to the next level.
However, the Merseysiders understand that Bellingham’s talent and excellent performance further complicate what was already a very difficult transfer.
Bellingham had a standout 2021–22 season, making 44 games across all competitions and contributing six goals and 14 assists.
He has carried that form into the new season operating in a more advanced role, often on the right side of midfield.
But because of his adaptability and caliber, he can succeed in a variety of roles, including that of midfield anchorman, center two, and number eight.
