“I will join Liverpool” – Liverpool submits $60m bid to sign Barcelona midfielder star linked with a move to Manchester United

A new midfielder is urgently needed by Liverpool and now sources from Spain say that the Reds have made an offer for FC Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.
According to Forbes: ‘Liverpool have made an offer to FC Barcelona to sign their midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
‘This has been reported by Spanish transfer news outlet Futbol Total, who have confirmed claims made by Liverpool fan account Talk of the Kop on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the source, the Premier League giants have tabled a bid for the Dutchman that would see them hand over an initial £53mn ($62.5mn) for his services and a further £7mn ($8.25mn) in variables totalling around €71mn ($70mn)’.
It may be quite thrilling for Liverpool fans to hear about this agreement, and it does make more sense on paper for the Barcelona player to choose a move to Anfield right now.
The Dutchman does not seem very keen on staying and competing for a spot at the Nou Camp, despite interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, given president Joan Laporta’s recent dubious financial intentions and motivations, as well as the parties’ recent public fights over deferred and decreased wages, this plan may now be more likely to materialize.
The 25-year-old is willing to cut ties with Barca and make a move to Jurgen Klopp’s side before the September 1 transfer deadline.
This would all make sense from the player and his parent club’s point of view, the last party is FSG though and that is possibly the biggest stumbling for this deal.
Although it is unknown whether FSG is prepared and able to finance a transaction worth approximately £60 million, acquiring a player of this calibre and age range does seem to fit in with their model of past deals.
