Liverpool star Andy Robertson Reveals huge club goals for next season during the preseason tour
The Reds intend to win additional trophies in the 2022–23 club season, according to Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.
Last season, Jurgen Klopp’s team came very close to achieving the first-ever quadruple in football history.
Both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup were won by them, although they were unsuccessful in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
The Reds fell 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final and finished one point behind Manchester City in the league standings.
Robertson hopes his team to build on this success and compete fiercely the following season. According to the Liverpool Echo, the 28-year-old said:
“We want the feeling of lifting trophies. We had it twice last season and two really good days out at Wembley and we want that feeling again.
“We know it takes a lot of hard work, we know it takes a lot of determination and everyone singing off the same hymn sheet effectively.”
The Scotland captain added: “If we do that, then we believe we are there or thereabouts because we’ve got a fantastic team when we’re at our best.
“But we know as soon as we drop below that then we won’t achieve what we want to achieve.
“That’s what the plan is – to go for everything 100 per cent like we’ve always done.
“If we do that, we believe that gives us the best possible chance to be successful.”
The outstanding Red left-back made 47 appearances and scored three goals for the Merseyside team last season.
In addition, Robertson provided 15 assists, which is the most he has ever done in a single season in his professional career.
Liverpool has been active in the current transfer window as they look to improve on their successes from the previous campaign.
Darwin Nunez was acquired for a club-record £85 million from SL Benfica, and Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay were also added to their roster.
