“He will never be 100% fit”-Egyptian Doctor blames Liverpool for latest Mohamed Salah’s injury
“He will never be 100% fit”-Egyptian Doctor gives the latest update on Mohamed Salah’s injury
Liverpool star forward Mohamed Salah is still nurturing the injury he received in the FA Cup final.
When Liverpool faced Chelsea in the FA Cup final, Mohamed Salah was injured. He was forced to leave the game in the first half due to a thigh injury, and he missed the next league game.
The Egyptian International didn’t start against Wolves in the final league game of the season, but he was called into action in the second half when Liverpool seemed like they would pull off a surprise victory.
After he went on to play in the Champions League final against Real Madrid for the full 90 minutes.
Salah was not at 100 percent despite pushing himself for the big games at the close of the season. Salah returned to Egypt after his Liverpool duties to play in an AFCON qualifier against Guinea.
Mohamed Abou El Ela, the doctor for Egypt’s national team, spoke about Salah’s current condition.
“Salah’s injury occurred during the FA Cup final in the adductor muscles, then he played against Wolves and in the Champions League final, and all of this in just 14 days,” he said.
“We send and receive players with medical reports, and Liverpool’s said that he had pain and should get an x-ray, there’s not a 100% fit player, but there’s the question of whether he can push himself and play without risk.
“The club thought one game is enough and we chose the Guinea game because the second against Ethiopia would be hard for him to travel in a long flight. He couldn’t play another game after three days.”
So hardly the best image of Liverpool, yet he was fit enough to play for his country at least once. Klopp attempted to give him the next two Premier League games off, but it did not go as planned. Salah, in particular, desired a repeat with Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Salah will then have a holiday before returning to the team for preseason training. Hopefully, the rest will be sufficient to bring him back in form for the upcoming season.
